Ascension Spring Dance is a Big Hit!
Ascension parents, teachers, Alumni and church members are all on one accord. The students enjoyed every moment.
Ascension students arrived for the "Spring Dance" dressed in their "casual chic" outfits ready to take on every tune DJ RonB had on the playlist.
Some parents worked on the set-up team, a group of parents worked during the dance to facilitate food service and ,of course, parents supported the clean-up effort.
We had three teachers and our principal lending a hand where we needed them most. Ms. Williams took on the daunting task of counting M&Ms for our "Guess How Many M&Ms" were in our jar challenge.
Our safety was well guarded by Officer Ivey(parent) and Officer Grear(parent).
We were especially blessed to have the event catered by Mrs. Sandra McNeil. Mrs. McNeil was a student in Mr. Bartel's 1st graduating class(1970), She is the mother of two former students and a member of the church. Kudos to Mrs. McNeil.
The Extended-Care director Lori Dendy helped us find a DJ on Friday morning.. The DJ we lined up two weeks before the event lost a family member and was unable to attend.
We would also like to thank The Nellis Corporation for a $200.00 donation on behalf of our dance. WalMart also donated two $20.00 gift cards. Mrs. Sonya Inabinet (parent) solicited the donations from Nellis and WalMart. Kudos for Ms. Inabinet!
Last and certainly not least, I want to thank all the students who attended and showed their appreciation on their faces and in their special dance moves.
