Susan Kennedy has taught at Ascension for 13 years and is beginning her 20th year in teaching. She was born in Cheverly, Maryland and raised in Hyattsville. She attended Concordia Lutheran School from kindergarten to 9th grade and is a graduate of Northwestern High School. She received her BA from Concordia College, Bronxville, New York with a major in elementary education and a minor in music. Mrs. Kennedy was the Preschool Daycare Director for two years at Concord Lutheran School in Pagedale, Missouri, and taught 3rd and 4th grade in a combined classroom at St. Luke’s Lutheran School in St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Kennedy shares her love of Maryland history with her students through the curriculum, fieldtrips, and encouraging her students to explore Maryland. Mrs. Kennedy is the mother of two busy girls who attend Concordia Lutheran School. She is active in the church choir and playing her flute both at her home congregation and Ascension. When not busy with school and church activities, she loves going to the beach and learning about Maryland history.
