Rainie Grotte is starting her sixth year teaching Seventh Grade Math and Eighth Grade Pre-Algebra in our Middle School Department. She also serves as our substitute teacher and gets to know most of the children in the school. She spends many hours taking pictures of Ascension’s students and the numerous activities in our school, and helps to put together our yearbook, The Eagle. Mrs. Grotte is a graduate of Concordia Lutheran University in Bronxville, NY with a BA in Education. She taught Second Grade at Trinity Lutheran School in Orlando, Florida, before coming to Ascension as our First Grade teacher for six years. She took time off from teaching to have a family. She then became the Director / Teacher of the Landover Hills Baptist Church Early Learning Center for nine years. Mrs. Grotte is married to Ernie Grotte who is an Ascension alumnus. In fact, our principal Jack Bartels was his Fourth Grade teacher. Her two sons, Joshua and Jeremy, are in college and are proud to be Ascension graduates.
