Virginia (Jenny) DeMaio teaches third grade and is department chair of the Elementary School at Ascension. A graduate of Concordia Lutheran University in Bronxville, NY with a BA in Education and English, Mrs. DeMaio began her teaching career at Ascension as the fifth grade teacher. Mrs. DeMaio received her M. Ed. from the University of Maryland in College Park in Reading Education. She took a few years off to raise her young children and then returned to Ascension as the third grade teacher. Mrs. DeMaio has been on staff of Ascension Lutheran School for more than twenty-five years. Mrs. DeMaio is married to Louis DeMaio, an engineer at NASA and has three children. All three of the DeMaio children are Ascension alumni and have gone on to attend the University of Maryland and Eastern University in St. David’s PA. The youngest DeMaio is a senior at Bowie, HS.
